Hello guys! I’m new here and I’d like to introduce myself. I’m a competitive dancer and have been dancing since I was 2 and dancing competitively since I was 7. I have been crocheting for a little over a year and have fallen in love with it. I used to only do crochet kits but recently started buying my own yarn and finding patterns online. I decided to download a crocheting app because I thought it might be easier than finding random patterns across the web and then losing them forever. The main reason I chose ribblr was because it said it removes AI patterns. I really hate AI because it’s destroying people’s creativity. Well, I’m getting off topic. Here are some fun facts about me:
I’ve been dancing for 10+ years
I’m the youngest in my grade
I got a concussion and then came down with covid the next day
I have 5 siblings
I might be in a professional show ( I made it to the finale round of auditions anyway)
If you have any questions I’d love to answer them!
I was a semi-professional Latin dancer I only performed as part of our dance group, so it wasn’t purely my own show, nor was it my main livelihood, just a passion project during my college years But I digress!
I have a little baby girl now, and I would love for her to discover the world of dance early in life, as I didn’t get that chance. At the same time, I want to be careful not to push her into something she doesn’t enjoy. Do you have any advice/warnings on getting started at 2 years old?
That’s so cool! I don’t really remember much about dancing at that age, but my mom always told me that she put me in dance because I would always be dancing around the house. My first class was a summer camp. This is probably the best way to see if your daughter would like dance since the summer classes/camps usually only last a few days or a week. Hope this helps :)
Welcome to Ribblr! One of my best friends is a competitive dancer so I know how hard it is (I actually wasn’t sure if you were her, but she doesn’t have 5 siblings lol). Sorry about the concussion/covid thing, I’ve never had that happen but I’ve gotten a concussion 3 times, all of which were right before a big competition (I’m talking county championships for wrestling, nationals for my club basketball, and league finals for school basketball)
