So far I’ve been in Japan for 4 months since yesterday. I’m going to share some of the culture shocks I’ve had since moving here.
I’ll start with something a little weird. The domino’s here has a bacon milkshake I haven’t tried it and I don’t plan on it
I kinda like this one. Most public places have signs saying that you need to talk at a reasonable level. Every where we’ve been has been peaceful.
We are back to mask wearing here. There is no law saying it is required, but it isn’t socially acceptable to not wear one.
THE GIFTS since starting at an all Japanese dance studio I’ve been gifted fruit, potato snacks, and cookies all at different times. We also got a veggie basket for car shopping.
My personal favorite the amigurumi there is amigurumi everywhere! Every place has some displayed somewhere. Even people that don’t crochet know what amigurumi is. Everyone knows the difference between crochet and knitting
Should I do this more often? I’m happy to answer questions or show some pictures of my travels.
Yes please! These are great! What is the yarn like there? Do they have big thick yarn (like super bulky) there or is it more of the delicate smaller sizes?
Ooh I’ll make a separate post about that! And all of the amigurumi supplies!! Thinking I should go to some of my favorite craft stores and take pictures that’ll have to wait because one of them is 90 mins away
You don’t need a license in the US? I thought it’s required for most countries
(here it’s like if you rarely sell something and don’t make much then you don’t need to but above a certain amount it’s illegal to sell stuff without, so like if planning to sell a lot it’s recommended)
