Hello,
What is the best yarn to use when trying to develop a pattern? One that can withstand my constant undoing? TIA (:
I would probably use the cheapest yarn available to you, I live in the U.S so I use dollar tree yarn as they have acrylic worsted, chenille, and cotton yarn. I also changed the space as Support is meant for when there’s a question about Ribblr
Thank you! Its my first fime posting an adoce question and i didnt realize thats what support meant. I appreciate the help. Amd thanks for that advice. I didnt think about the dollar stores!
I design 99% of my patterns in acrylic Natural fibers such as wool tends to cling to itself and cotton tends to unravel/split quite often
You could design with chenille, but chances are high that will begin to split/get tufty too–so if you want to make something bulky, it might be good to make a mini in acrylic first
I’ve always used cotton as it tends to straighten out once you wind it around the ball again, and seems to hold up well under repeated unravelings. It also doesn’t have as much of a habit of the fibers catching and making knots as it’s unraveled, which I’ve had happen to me with some other yarn types.
Red Heart Supet Saver holds up well to frequent frogging.
