im going to make a plushy for someone having a baby and im not too sure what to make. i don’t really want to make a bunny because i already made that for someone else having a baby. im open to suggestions but my only thing is i would kinda want it to look good with sleepy eyes like this picture I’ll add. since it’s for a baby im terrified of using safety eyes and avoid them at all costs for this project. so if you have any suggestions or patterns, please let me know, thanks!
Yeah, avoiding safety eyes is probably better overall. For the plushie, more common animals like bears, cats, lambs, and dogs seem to be popular with baby items as well as things like unicorns and dinosaurs. (Sleepy eyed lamb aghhh ) I’ve also heard that you’re supposed to make sure the stuffing is safe. I believe 100% polyester stuffing is good- but I’ll go double check that and edit this if I’m wrong.
You could do a cow like this lil guy.
Also, I think most Poly-Fil brand is hypoallergenic which should be pretty safe for a baby. I’d also recommend not using chenille or velvet just because it tends to fluff everywhere. I’m not sure about yarns labeled “baby” or “baby blanket” though since I haven’t tried those. I’d assume those are safe for babies if it’s labeled that way
Maybe you could make a frog or a leggy froggy! A cat would be cute, too!
I also read that you couldn’t use chenille because it sheds. I ended up using big twist posh and I also made a small test ball to wash and it help up perfectly
Does the person have a theme? I like to try and make something to match the person’s nursery theme.
something like this would be good!
I have made Loveys for some baby’s before, and they seem to love it! What I do is I make a big granny square and a little bunny or bear head, and I sew it on the middle of the granny Square. I’m sure you can find detailed videos or patterns on yt though!
I’m in the same vote but I got ideas to make for the new born. Blankets, hats, sweaters dresses for girls pants or romper for boys. I have been crocheting dresses since my girls were little. I still have photos of their first dresses.
If you have felt/fabric you could just cut some circles or other shapes out for eyes then glue/sew them on.
You could crochet eyes. And for the actual pattern, I personally love
this one!
It’s not Ribblr, but it’s really cute.
I personally love this little sleeping sheep!
You could always make somethinh like a baby blanket
Or little boots
Or a beanie
aww ur so sweet!! but smth really cute would be a bear or a bird (sleepy eyed bird would be kinda cute ngl)
but keep us updated!!!
Sewing would be better than gluing tbe felt.
