about 15 years ago, they made a baby version of that pillow that went in the front under the chin to help stabilize the baby’s head… that was when some people started using the adult version around the front. Both have since been denounced as not as safe as they thought, the actual way the baby one is used now is over the top of the head like a rainbow and the adult one replaced with a half- circle that is used on one side or the other as across the back of the neck also interferes with the safety features of the seat headrest

Something i realised quite late was that ‘etc’ was an abbreviation of et cetera. I grew up just calling it e.t.c whenever anyone said et cetera around me as a child, i was so confused hahaha

I didn’t realize how to properly say “albeit” until my mid 20’s. I’ll leave it to your imagination o how I actually said it. Finally realized one day while reading it just hit me. I felt so silly.

hubby calls that “nerd accent” when you have only ever read a word and never heard it spoken so you pronounce it weird. He had a D&D character once that did that as often as possible

I was an adult before I realized adults weren’t joking about tourists from big cities not knowing how to respect wildlife… until as an adult I’ve been asked so many serious non joking questions in the summer by tourists like when do the park rangers let the animals out? And the number of grown adults I have seen walk right up and try to take a selfie with a Buffalo, Elk, Moose, etc and then be genuinely shocked when it charges them, gores them or otherwise harms them because they think they should be docile and don’t know to respect their space. I’ve even watched adults get their kids out of the car on the side of the road to try to get a picture of them all with a grizzly bear 
Then I realized what I thought was common sense respect for nature was actually things that had just been taught to me young so I thought everyone just knew them.
