Hiiii!!! This is another really random post but how often do you buy yarn? For me I normally wait a few months between ordering yarn and I come up with what I want to make a few weeks prior to buying the yarn but sometimes when I don’t have any nice yarn left I end up buying. Anyways be sure to tell me what you do in the comments:D
Happy crafting

It’s pretty rare for me… I’m on a budget, so random purchases are harder, and big purchases have to be planned… Thankfully I have a huge stash, so I only have to plan for large projects… I usually do a “large” shopping around Christmas and tax return haha

Yarn can be so expensive these days

If I go to get groceries I tend to look and snag a skien or two. Or if it’s for a custom. Sometimes I walk out with none.

I mostly just buy yarn when I have a project I want to make and I don’t already have the yarn for it. If I buy yarn without any project in mind it just sits in a box unused.

I tend to go to my craft store when I have a coupon, which is pretty frequent haha! But I usually will only buy one or two skeins to get the sale price. I usually pick colors I tend to use a lot or if I know I have an upcoming project using that color. It probably ends up being twice a month. More around the holidays!

I’ve been doing that lately just snagging one or two items when I can get it fit 40-50% off. That Bernat Velvet and Blanket at $12 each? No way.
I’m now on a yarn diet.
BUT, I would easily spend a couple hundred dollars of yarn a month when I was working as a nurse practitioner. Those days are gone thanks to COVID 19.
The quality of yarn that I buy has also changed, I buy more acrylic now since it’s less expensive. I used to get just about anything with viscose in it. And wool that felt real soft, and I love bamboo blends.

I buy yarn whenever I see a product I wanna make and don’t have the yarn for it

Ummm…once a week sometimes. Is that a problem? Lol I just buy yarn whenever I’m in a craft store which is a lot of the time.
