So I want to do a market at some point this year, but I don’t really know where to look and I would like some tips from people who have experience this. If you know anywhere where I can find market/fair info or have some tips pls feel free to share! Tysm
I have absolutely no idea
@littlemisswonderful @Elaya
Maybe they know something about it
Mk thx for letting me know
So, I would:
•definitely look up and do your research when and where exactly the ones close to you (or wherever you would like to market) are being held.
•if the ones hosting have a website or Facebook group, find out how entry works.
Call/message who you can.
Don’t be afraid to!
For a lot of markets, to actually apply, you have to do some digging/contacting (definitely contact) to reserve a booth for yourself.
Booths also usually come with a fee. Price varies
I didn’t sell much my first market I did.
It was a Farmer’s Market, and somewhat out of the way.
Not a lot of traffic.
Not necessarily artist-focussed (definitely be on the look-out for markets that focuss on handmade/art/a genre your art focusses on).
I was kinda discouraged.
But even so, I think experiencing it, and getting to talk to people about your craft in-person is worth it, and overall a great experience for any artist.
You learn from any mistakes your first time around too, and that’s ok!
I’d like to give it a go again, someday
Good luck
You’re gonna do great!
Tysm!! This is super helpful
No problem!
I hope you find what your looking for soon
it’s all depends where you live. i live in arizona so i go to many events in tuscan. even a pop up is possible any where busy
I’ve done a few craft fairs now, and I agree with all of that!! I would also say give people the option to scan a Venmo/Zelle/PayPal QR code, but most people bring cash to those things. Also make sure that ALL of your makes (that are for sale) are very visible, people flock to stalls when they like what they see. I.e. Small jewelry booths aren’t usually very crowded, they go for the modern minimalist look typically. As someone who probably has ADHD, it’s definitely an out of sight, out of mind deal. I like to just walk along the strip of shops looking for the big, fun stuff. You can set up however you want, but that’s just what I’ve noticed Hope this helped, you’re gonna be great!!
Yes, I agree with all of this as well!
