Ha. Kinda the same. I am trying to learn ASL. Singing / signing along with a YouTube video. 
Pretty proud of myself, but not sharing a video. haha (I did slow down the playback speed on the video.) I can do the tilte pretty well. Our God, is an awesome God!

I may never be fluent, to old of a brain to remember it well. But, I was able to communicate a bit at a rummage last summer. My daughter knows more than I. Still learning also. But she has always used it with them, before any of her babies could talk.
The video I’m learning with is one of Hayden Daum’s covers of the Phil Wickham song What an awesome God! Hayden “sings” it like he means it and it really touches me.
