i like to have multiple projects going while i work on a big project. like right now im doing a sweater, but i also have a bear and a new pattern nearby so if i grt tired of one, i can switch to another

I agree with loaf, it helps to have other projects going, I literally started a cardigan MONTHS ago and it’s pretty thin yarn so it’s taking forever to work up but when I get demotivated I just start on a smaller project that works up quickly so I still get some completion satisfaction

For me when im making big projects and i need help to stay motivated to finish. I do a few steps, not in any particular order, but ive found mixing and matching a few helps me.

  1. Set a due date for yourself (make it a realistic one, and dont give yourself more than 1 extension not to exceed 5 days from orginal date)
  2. Take small breaks and do something fun for yourself (self care is important)
  3. Put on music or a movie that is motivational to you (i use shania twain, UP, or randome youtube videos)
  4. Make a small pattern that is easy and fast to work up
  5. Give a reason to the current project (a gift for yourself or someone else)
  6. Remember to always keep it fun

These patterns aren’t my own, but these were some i needed to keep motivated to finish
