Christmas grind

On the run up to Christmas does any one else think “I wish I didn’t know how to crochet/knit/any other craft” because you have to make gifts for everyone and you always start too late just to add to the pain :joy::joy::joy:

Sometimes, but at the same time im glad everyone else appreciate my work so much to want me to make them something

Well, I hate that grind so much that I just don’t do it. I’m starting in Christmas presents right after Christmas. I’m giving myself a year to make a few things to give. Two of them are blankets.

I actually started making my gifts in Aug LOL the issue is when someone requests something outside what you had already planned

Ikr :joy: my mum said to me the other week “where’s that garland you were making” (which was meant to be like 1.5m long) and I looked at my feeble pile of 5 holly leaves like :woman_facepalming:

I told my mum she can wait till her birthday for her blanket :joy:

I get that lol :joy: thankfully I need just one more gift and I’m done! Although I need to make two more gifts that won’t be in time for Christmas (I ran out of yarn and it won’t arrive till after) so I don’t have to rush for those lol

Yay!!! Don’t have to rush!!

My answer to anything my friends and family want for free (recipes, hair cuts/color, crafting) is that “if it’s free, you get what I want”
Surprising how quickly the requests dry up when uncle so and so gets a pink wool man thong and cousin so and so gets giant floppy hat full of clashing colors not found in nature.

That’s hilarious! I love it!
