CLOSED. Tester call for Crochet: Axel Otto the Axolotl

I need testers for my Axel Otto the Axolotl - Crochet ePattern!

It is a no-sew, super bulky or jumbo yarn project requiring 45 stitch markers or ways to mark stitches. I use a size 5 mm hook and 15 mm safety eyes with super bulky yarn and size 7 mm hook and 18 mm safety eyes with jumbo yarn.

This is my first time doing a tester call on Ribblr, so if anything in this post doesn’t make sense, then we will figure it all out together :D

I’ll pick a few testers on Wednesday the 3rd.

Due Date: 17th of December

Additional Requirements:

  • I’d love for you to interact with my Instagram tester call (@MamasiCrochet) and stating that you would like to test on Ribblr, but its not a requirement per say.
  • Send me a few well-lit or nature setting pictures of the finished axolotl

What you’ll get:

  • The finished pattern!
  • The worlds coolest animal as your forever friend!
  • A heartfelt thank you, photos and perhaps a tag in the pattern and in an Instagram post

Good luck with testing generally used when someone would have loved to test but can’t at the moment, or just to help boost new shops, returning shops, or just in general by commenting

Why would it need 45 stitch markers? Just so you can find your stitches???

OMGGGGG!! so cutttee!!! can u plz tag me in the release? also is it gonna be a paid pattern?

The markers are used to mark the loops that you crochet the tail fin into  many of them are involved with decreases and hard to get a hold of, if you don’t mark them.

Follow the shop and you’ll get notified automatically  it will be paid.

I find it good when having a pattern that is primarily jumbo yarn to also have a acrylic or worsted weight yarn test. I would like to be that tester, 4.00 mm hook and worsted weight yarn.

I have done this pattern in super fine, light/DK/worsted, super bulky and jumbo yarn. With super fine and light, things don’t add up the same - though that might have to do with hook size as well. When you do worsted and a 4 mm hook, do the stitches then slant or line up above each other?

It depends on how you do it. I have made patterns that were intended for chunky yarns in worsted yarn and usually the only thing different I would have to do is make small placement adjustments (if even needed). I would be happy to record such adjustments for a more versatile pattern if you’d like!

I’ve done the same both ways - and I agree, usually it’s just a few minor adjustments. I think the tail will be an interesting one to “translate” I initially wanted to add adjustments for super fine and light yarn as I have done for my other patterns, but I fell sick and just wanted to start testing. I’d love for you to test and add your thoughts on adjustment feedback

Of course! And i can understand that feeling of just wanting to get it over with

I could test this with size 4 yarn and a 3.5mm crochet hook
