[CLOSED] Tester call for Crochet: Fire Koi Kaiju plush

I need testers for my Fire Koi Kaiju plush - Crochet ePattern

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING

This is a large project! With weight 6 yarn, my kaiju is 40in long! Do not commit to testing if you are not ready for a large project. This pattern uses foundation single crochet with no alternative option (Ribblr has a video).

This pattern is part of the children’s drawing collab by @Centara

Due Date: 2026-01-18T05:00:00Z

Additional Requirements:

  • You will need weight 6 yarn in any base color (I used Mainstays white) and in 1 or 2 accent colors (I used 2 red shades of premier parfait chunky), black worsted weight yarn for eyes.
  • This pattern uses a 5/5.5mm hook for the head, 7mm hook for body and fins, and a 4mm hook for the eyes.
  • Pins or stitch markers are helpful for sewing
  • Provide feedback and suggestions in the group chat
  • Post a final photo to your journal
  • If interested, comment with what colors you’d like to use and a :snake:

Please let me know when it releases. I’d love to make it but I don’t think I’m ready to test yet after the Christmas rush lol (:

I’m interested in making an earthy version using browns and greens.

I don’t think I have time to test it sorry but I might get the pattern once it’s released since my older sister really likes it

I’d love to if there was a longer deadline , will deffo get the pattern if you release it? It’s gorgeous:pleading_face:

I would so do this if I could crochet faster, even if I didn’t have other tests going, I still wouldn’t make the deadline at my crochet speed, both the drawing and the crochet design are absolutely amazing and gorgeous, GLWT, it’s looks so great!!! :blue_heart::light_blue_heart::blue_heart::light_blue_heart::blue_heart:

I don’t know why but I so thought the largest stitch count was gonna be more than 36, I still wouldn’t make the deadline, but I am amazed that 36 is the largest round, cause I’ve done projects with 50 & 56 being the main round

Oh also how many skeins of weight 6 yarn? Or I guess a more accurate question would be how many grams per skein and then how many skeins

I’d love to test! I have bernat on hand. I’d use black for main body and red/orange accent colors!

Oops forgot to add me snek :snake:

I’d love to test! I think I would try a water lizard, so using blues as the main color with maybe green or purple as the highlight colors. How many skeins do we need of the main body color? :snake:

I used almost a full skein of mainstays cozy chenille which is about 10oz. For the fins I used roughly 3/4 of each color (premier parfait chunky) so I’d say 3oz of each would be enough.
