I think people with very few karma are less likely to get selected as a tester, especially for more complicated makes even if they are skilled. So for this pattern I will pick the ones with very few (even zero) karma.

Although I do agree that its odd there is a totally different system of measurement, figuring out and remembering imperial measurements isn’t hard or confusing when you grow up learning it. To most of us using the imperial system we think that the metric system is confusing to learn.
