Hello everyone! I need testers for my latest pattern, Popping Lobster Coaster! This was a requested pattern by @Woobler26 !
Cotton yarn is recommended for this coaster because of its absorption properties. I highly recommend double stranding your yarn or using thicker cotton yarn for a stronger “pop”!
The base coaster is made in joined rounds. The head, claws, and eyes are made in continuous rounds. The tail is made in rows.
The final round of the base coaster is made with a crab or reverse sc stitch. I was able to find several videos online to show how this is done!

Yayyy it is so cute and a great idea, I have been looking for some popping coasters in free patterns too! I would love to test with a 5mm hook and weight 4 acrylic yarn!
