Hello, hello and welcome! This is the Country of the week #4 !!! This week’s country is…India!!! I’m not gonna yap today, bc I’m sick and I’m not feeling good
Let’s get into it!
Something from the history
•Mahatma gandhi was born and raised in India. India was ruled by Britain and Gandhi wanted independence from britain. In the 1930s he led a famous peaceful protest called the salt march and was arrested later. He was big on peace, and inspired many others, including MLK jr.
•India invented the number system and advanced math.
Interesting places to go
Marashtra (specifically Bombay/Mumbai)
Gujarat (specifically Indore)
Madhya pradesh (specifically Baroda/ Vadodara)
Usually the streets are really crowded, and there are stray dogs and cows roaming the roads and sidewalks! It’s also densely populated so people unfortunately live on the streets. There is also a TON of traffic, most people have motorcycles instead of cars, and some go in rickshaws.
This is a rickshaw for those who dont know:
Something from the language
•Here’s some Hindi:
namaste! aaj aap kaise hain=hello! how are you today
main bahut achchha kar raha hoon, dhanyavaad=I’m doing great thank you
mujhen nahin pata=I don’t know
Some random facts(cuz why not?)
