Crochet flexes?

We had a discussion about our crochet pet peeves but what about our flexes? Mine is that I can see the stitches and find it easy to crochet with tinsel wool. I don’t use an overly big hook- a 5.5mm

oo mine is that i can make presentable pieces out of ANY kind of yarn, even the fluffy kind no one can see the stitches of lol

i also can freehand just about anything, as well as memorize patterns super easily. my brain thinks crochet is more important than biology apparently

Hmmm. I have super tight tension (a blessing and a curse), I use a smaller hook with worsted yarn (3.00 mm) annnnnnnd um I crochet really fast (my dad said my hands are a blur lol)
Plus I can memorize stitches and patterns, and I love to freehand stuff. I can just see it in my head and make it

Ummm when I make a pattern it only takes me 1 take of making it I guess lol

Yeah, I’m a slow crocheter but I mostly freehand stuff

Well number one is im a pretty fast crocheter; i was in a crochet club and everyone was mesmerized by how fast i was crocheting lol

And number two is that when i want to make a pattern, i dont normally have to sketch it out or look at a picture (unless someone asks me for a specific character), i can just think up a pattern in my head and usually the steps i came up with in my head turn out great once i actually crochet it (idk if that made any sense lol)

  1. I can crochet with thread and a 1 mm hook.
  2. I don’t have to look down for every stitch, so I can read while I crochet.
  3. I can freehand a sweater for myself (but not so well other people).

I can memorize a pattern insanely fast if I like it. I srsly memorized one in about an afternoon because I made like 8 of them! I can also modify patterns with color changes or different shaped body parts or whatever easily.
I don’t ever get hand pain, even when I use a $0.67 hook set (yes really!)
Edit: Plus, I learned crochet from a book. No tutorials. In UK terms, then later figured out the difference so now I can switch between easily.
And I also have never really found a pattern ‘hard’. People say bbl stitches are hard, but I’ve never had an issue. Same with surface crochet. I just find crochet SO easy. I mean, some cabling and other complicated stitch patterns in clothing would be difficult-ish, but honestly it would be fun!

My flex is that I learned how to crochet SUPER fast and learn new stitches really quickly too. It took me a few hours to crochet my first amigurumi axolotl with no prior experience and learned completely from YouTube tutorials! My tension was right too!
Also, I can mental math really quick so I don’t have to go “2 sc, 1 dc, 2 sc…” and count 'em all, I just math.

I guess mine is that I find black yarn just as easy to work with as any other color.

Not sure if this is a flex or not but I just started crocheting earlier this year and already have a business :) I’m super excited and hope this income can boost me into the world when I am old enough to move out :heartpulse:
