Crochet Submission Suggestions

So, I recently wrote a piece on crochet for a writing class. For experience, and because it’s something I know a fair bit about. :wink: But my teacher has now asked me to find somewhere to submit it for publication- a blog or website, they said. I tried to explain that bloggers usually only want guest posts from people with their own blog, but they didn’t believe me. So if any of you have ideas of places I could try, let me know! I would be very apprecitave of help. Thank you!

Honestly I wouldn’t have a clue where to start with that.
Maybe put a post out into Instagram and see if anyone who has a blog would be happy to have a guest post?

I would see if any crochet magazines accept submissions! They might accept guest spots digitally on their website or in print.
I’d Google crochet, crafting, or even “women’s lifestyle” type of magazines.
I’m guessing your teacher is just wanting you to try to submit something, not that you necessarily need to get it published, right? So reaching out and trying with proof that you emailed a publication should suffice:smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What about any of the yarn councils?

Look up some of the older crochet magazines that have an online presence, there’s Crochetworld, Crochet!, Crochet Now, just off the top of my head. Once you look them up, I’m sure you’ll easily find others

@Jademayhead Yeah, I might be stigmatizing myself here lol, but no Insta right now. :cry:
Yes, @MinichelleDesigns having submitted it somewhere would be enough. I just didn’t want to do it to somewhere I already knew it wouldn’t work (so not the established-blog-only guest post places).

Thank you, that’s helpful. I’ll see what I can find!

@anoswaldoddity That sounds a bit. . . intimidating. . . but I guess I could try!

They could be looking for aspiring crochet authors?
Most everyone is interested in passing the craft down to newer generations.

This gal has a great reach with a blog her name is ashley.

Id suggest reaching out to her and seeing if she’d be up for something like this. I do know she has collaborated before.
