Hello!
I am new to the Ribblr Community and just wanted to introduce myself.
My name is Christine and I am a crochet tech editor.
I am an avid crocheter and lover of yarn and pretty things. I was a law clerk for many years and now stay home with my two boys.
I am currently taking on new tech editing clients and would love to use my skills to help you publish the best crochet patterns possible. I am happy to answer any questions you may have as well.
Right now, I am offering a free tech edit in exchange for a testimonial.
.
You can contact me here, on Facebook (fb/StitchReader) or on Instagram (@christineandcrochet).
I look forward to working with some of the amazing designers here!

Great idea for you to reach out like this. I have a couple of patterns being tested at present by makers, but as an indie designer the tech editing side does tend to get missed. They only get tech edited if we’re lucky enough to get picked up by one of the magazines.

Thank you!
I couldn’t agree more about tech editing getting missed with indie designers.
Testers are great at finding errors but tech editors do much more in terms of editing a pattern. Having a pattern edited may even help a designer get picked up by a publication.
Hoping I can be of some help!

I would be happy to do a testimonial in return for tech editing. Especially when it comes to garments. That’s where I sometimes have issues, grading up and down when you’re not confident with maths can make the whole design process daunting.

I would love that! Feel free to email me at Christine@stitchreader.com or via my website (link in my bio) when you are ready.
Looking forward to working with you!

Hello there!
I really enjoyed your post about the difference between a tester and an editor and their roles.
I wanted to make the suggestion that you also write one up here on the subject… I think the community would find it interesting.

I just wanted to add a quick little update here that I will only have my free edit offer until May 15. However, I have some other deals listed on “My Services” page on my website (link in bio).
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Thank you!

For everyone who may be considering it, I can highly recommend having your patterns tech edited. Worth every penny to have it done, take yourself from a hobby designer to a professional one.
I am now working with @StitchReader for a second time and she has picked up on consistencies that I missed as well as checking all my stitch counts.
