I honestly didn’t know there was a difference! 
I always do inside out, or at least that’s how the hook is placed when I crochet. I don’t even know what is meant by the v stitches on the inside versus out. Is it the texture on the outside or is it the v you stick the hook into? I don’t really know how to tell the difference. I typically just flip it inside out to put the starting yarn tail on the inside cuz I hate weaving.

When I started amigurumi I didn’t have YT or videos to show me the right way so my pieces worked up inside out because of the natural curl of the piece. It wasn’t until I was making a pattern with BLO that I realized something was off and did FLO instead. After that piece I did some research and found out about there being a RS/WS for amigurumi. (I also use the traditional yo/yo since I have been crocheting since way before yu/yo became popular for amigurumi)

I made my first amigurumi inside out because I didn’t know any better, but once I learned I’ve done it right side out ever since.
Only recently did I make an exception for some sew on pieces to an Audrey 2 I freehanded because the texture was more what I wanted to show forward.

these still turned out really great wowow! i think WS could definitely be useful when emphasizing certain details, especially if said details are the same color as the whole piece. i feel like it adds texture!

i think that style definitely works!! it gives audrey’s leaves a more “frilly” kinda look? i think that’s the right word

oh i just called right side & wrong side x and v stitches respdctively, i didnt wanna make it sound mean by calling it wrong side
not my photo again but here’s a WIP project turned inside out, you can kinda see it at the bottom of the piece on the outside there’s kind of like a “v” shape (can be upside down or right side up depending on how you look at it) with a horizontal line above it, while the inside has the “x” shaped stitches which have been deemed more common and "more proper” to show/use

i think that is a really good idea! especially since now i know they can definitely be used as a stylistic option, it should be more common practice to put some kind of notice on the pattern itself. especially when a good handful of people are unaware (if they are aware and are totally ok with using it then thats fine), it can really mess with their crafting confidence because their projects dont turn out the way they wanted it to
