Hello everyone,
So I recently got into rainbow loom bracelet making. I’m sure many of us remember either being gifted at some point or making a rubber band bracelet at least once in our lives. If not, it’s no big deal. Well I got a really cursed idea. What if I loop a really long chain and then try to crochet a granny square with it? I did just that. I failed, but not entirely. It took me about an hour to get this far:
I stopped because a band snapped. I had to pull the bands so incredibly taut that inevitably one snapped. My arms and hands hurt from doing this. Also, normally for me, one double crochet stitch takes about 2-5 seconds. Each one of these stitches with the bands took about 28 seconds. I wouldn’t recommend doing this, I did it because I thought it would be funny, but not worth it.
Anyway, I thought someone else on here might find this funny.
Thanks,
Zod/Jay

OH MY GOODNESS, ANOTHER LOOM BANDER?!?!
Before I got into crocheting I actually indulged in loomigurumi, a version of amigurumi but with loom bands, and it was actually really fun to learn and made learning to crochet much easier than if I started from scratch. There are a few videos on youtube that you should definetly check out if you are intrested in trying a new craft!

I honestly just started doing loom bracelets like two days ago, but I might check out loomigurumi. Off topic sorta, I started loom banding because my girlfriend, @Pheniox1, does it and I wanted to find a way to bond with her craft wise. I am neurodivergent (AuDHD) and I personally struggle with communication, especially with loved ones, so I wanted to find a way to communicate and have fun. I also wanted to get over my rubber texture issue. And maybe if I learn loomigurmi, I could teach her to crochet. The worms are adorable btw <3

Awww, that’s amazing! As a fellow neurodivergent, I attempted many times to get over my texture struggles but failed too many times, I wish you luck! Loomigurumi is quite similar to crochet, so it’s not that much of a jump between the two, so I really recommend trying, plus its fun to see the little creatures you can make out of loombands! If you want any pointers I would be happy to try the best I can!!
