I can’t be the only one who decides to make something, is super proud of it, then realizes I have no idea how I did it since I didn’t write a pattern right?

I’m the same. I’ve done it twice, making it up as I go along thinking “I’ll remember that” but I never do :((

I’ve been in the same boat! Usually I can look at it and go row by row to figure out what I did (this doesn’t work as well with plush yarn where it’s much harder to see your stitches)

All the time! Or I think I’m taking good notes along the way and then they make no sense later lol

Happened to me the first time I made my deer pattern! I had mistakes but people who tested for me helped. But it’s sometimes hard to get down the pattern especially if it’s the first time you do it and it’s free Handed

i normally try and count rows and look at stitches to figure out what I did!

I hate it when that happens, or when you’re trying to solve a problem come up with a great solution it works and then you can’t remember what it was

As much as we all say “I’ll remember this”, with the amount of things we have during the days, weeks, months, you most likely will not remember. PLEASE WRITE DOWN YOUR PATTERNS!!! It saves you so much time and stress!!!

Im guilty of this too though, Ive done this :sob:

Absolutely YES, so now I keep a recorder app close by so I can talk my pattern into it, then go back later and “type” it up. It has helped me so much. My problem was when I got an idea and didnt have paper to write it down. Now I use phone to record thought for later!
