Designing patterns

Does anyone have any tips on designing patterns?

the absolute best one I can give you is:

make it yourself!

theres a lot of things going around with people taking too much ‘inspiration’ from others’ patterns and/or using AI to create patterns, and both of these are not allowed on this site! so, even if you think it sucks, do it yourself and I promise it’ll turn out fine!

number two!

be patient!

I know it takes a LOOOOONG time to write out all the pattern! but trust, its worth it! you could become someone’s favorite designers (you never know!)

three!

start with 6 sc when making amigurumi!

this isn’t a tip necessarily like the others, but i’ve found that starting with 6 sc always is the default for amigurumi, except for some octopi.

here’s a little chart that might help you!

last but not least, here’s an article I found that’s really nice for both crocheting and pattern designing!

hope this helped!

Hi. So, I have only designed two patterns, but the tips I would give you are:

Have fun making your pattern

Take pictures each step that you’re doing when you make it, so that you can add it into the pattern thing that you’re making

Make the pattern just by you. If you need to, look up some fun patterns for inspiration

Hope it helps, and good luck
