I didn’t come up with it @anoswaldoddity did. But her amazing wealth of knowledge truly deserves it!
You are always so helpful. It makes me mad that someone would talk to you that way. There is absolutely no need for any of us to treat anyone like that.
There’s a ton of new patterns and a ton of new tester calls so I understand what you mean! though I still see lots of posts every day about WIPs, asking for help, giveaways of people and games.
Anything in particular you’d like to see more of?
P.S
as a side note - testing is going to have a big change soon
Edit:
also - don’t forget you can mute certain spaces!
Speaking of tester calls, what is Ribblr’s policy when a testing call post gets locked (7 days after the last response) but the designer posts again asking for testers for the exact same pattern? How many times is it allowed to post to test the exact same pattern?
Should the lock time be extended maybe? 10 days? Two weeks? Maybe 7 days is too short? I don’t test so I have no idea
I don’t really post about that stuff but I do often mention it in the chat. Perhaps it’s something I’ll start doing
maybe I can give a different perspective on it…
On a daily basis there would be dozens of very old tester posts that would be brought to the top again and clutter the current feed. This would happen because they were not closed, they were just kind of forgotten about or abandoned. So by having them self-closing, that gets avoided.
There are times when nobody signs up for a test. Just nobody was free at the time, it happens. There are also times that you get response, but then all of your testers end up not following through for one reason or another, it happens. These are times when a call may need to be repeated after it had been closed. A deliberate repeat of a single tester call is a much preferred choice over the accidental resurrection of dozens of very old test calls.
Yes, it’s 7 days with no reply. Not just 7 days to post. However, testing as a whole will be updated soon.
Thanks. That’s very understandable. I was just wondering how many posts requesting testing the exact same pattern were allowed
Thanks. I’m curious as to what new changes are being made. Hopefully they will be helpful for both the designers and the testers
I suppose it depends on the tenacity of the designer… I posted several items several times over several months because nobody wanted to test them , then I gave up and published them as-is and hoped for the best
I would always ask you if I was stuck.
When I tested for you your help was amazing
I have never seen you say anything wrong, straight yes wrong never
Part of the issue may be that many were out of work from covid before and with inflation many have had to go to work possibly for more hours then they did before covid. People might just not have as much free time.
