winters are hard because of the lack of sun and warm, I could never live in Alaska, tho it’s beautiful.

I worked with a psychiatrist who worked in Alaska for like 12 years. He said that depression and methamphetamine use runs rampant there. Also, which struck me as funny, he said “There’s a reason why those people live in a cabin alone hundreds of miles from civilization”.

after watching the series Life Below Zero on Disney, I can see that. they definitely prefer to be alone, and they work crazy hours to gather firewood, food etc for the year. I’ve seen some crazy accidents and thought, nope. Very interesting to watch but living there, um, nope.
