Hello everyone hope you all had a wonderful day. I’m here to talk about something important, the need to pay for everything. Everything is so expensive and paychecks are cheap. I was trying to find a Shih Tzu and every pattern cost money. Before you judge I know that people who make patterns deserve to be payed. But I’m young and I don’t have money because I spent it on yarn. It’s just very sad that this is the world we live in where we pay to go to the hospital. How bad things happen every day it’s sad…..
Sincerely your fellow crocheter
i agree, everything is very expensive nowadays. the economy is insane!
i totally understand where you are coming from! however, a lot of these pattern designers put a lot of time and thought into their patterns. when you buy a pattern, you are not just paying for the pattern, but also the time and energy the designer puts into the pattern.
I was young once (lol) and didn’t have much money to buy anything. As an adult that has worked for many years, I have now earned the ability to buy things I want. Do you have any plans to sell you crocheted items? If you do, you should be able to make some money and in turn purchase some wanted patterns! In the mean time, I will alert you if I find a free shih-tzhu pattern!
I would really appreciate it because I have been scouring the internet. I don’t have tiktok instagram or Pinterest. I’m trying to gift a family member their dogs and it’s just so hard.
Welcome to “LIFE”. ![]()
As you said, everything costs money (very little in life is free) and at the moment everything is very expensive. People need to prioritize essentials over luxury items.
Yarn and patterns are a luxury for many people.
The designers are trying to earn a living, or supplement their income by selling their patterns. Every dollar they make helps to support themselves and/or their families.
This is an age appropriate lesson for young people. It shows you what you’ll have to go through as an adult. When you want something you have to save your money over a period of time. You have to make choices - what to buy, what is your priority, if I buy “this” I have go without “that”. If I only spend $$ on yarn I can then buy that pattern for $$.
I too will keep an eye out for any good quality free Shih Tzu patterns for you. In the meantime keep saving your money. Perhaps let your parents and family know that if they’re looking for birthday or Christmas gift ideas for you, this is something you’d really appreciate. ![]()
I have found many free pattern on instagram, but will keep in mind what you cannot access!
It’s really hard to budget for anything extra right now-it’s so true. I’d maybe try to find a way to save on yarn if you can (like I find used “lots” of yarn online for very cheap sometimes). Also hitting your family members with jobs up always worked when I was younger-you know remind them you’re always accepting gift cards to wal mart or Michael’s for yarn no matter the occasion -maybe also sweeten the deal and say you’ll make them a free wash cloth some time.
Omg thank you so much! I really appreciate you taking the time for that thank you ![]()
ye unfortunately stuff just costs money. i personally very rarely buy patterns because i simply dont have a job and cant justify spending. but there are many MANY lovely free patterns out there and sometimes you just have to be creative and freehand things or combine patterns to get what you’re looking for.
i was thinking of selling patterns and using the profit for allowing myselfto get more patterns… but then i do the math and realize that if i want to make a pattern thats $1 ill only get like 45c out of it… so ye i didnt bother
anyways i saw someone found a pattern for you, good luck with creating
You’re welcome ![]()
