I just need to rant. I love making the crochet roll up flowers and when I saw a cute one on Etsy for a good price, I went ahead and bought it. The photo with the pattern looked like a real photo but the pattern was a MESS. AI slop. I got a second one and this one was a photo copy from a book. Neither of them are new sellers. I reported both to Etsy and never got a reply at all. That´s not to say there aren´t good sellers on Etsy. I have people I have bought from for years. But I work hard for my money and am so disappointed that I basically just threw money in the garbage. I especially appreciate Ribblr. Every pattern I have bought or even gotten for free has been great. And the couple of times I have had a question about a pattern, it was my lack of understanding, not that the pattern was bad. And sellers are quick to respond. Just had to get that off my chest.
the amount of ai garbage on etsy really has gotten out of hand, you’re completely right. i can’t go one second on etsy without seeing multiple ai or stolen listings, whether the item is stolen from other sellers or resold from temu, shein, etc. ribblr is kinda like a safe haven for crafters, where we can trust that we are using a pattern made by a real human, on a platform that is strictly anti ai. thanks ribblr.
I know right. A friend told me about Ribblr and I am so happy she did. There are so many amazing patterns and the prices are so reasonable. Etsy replied back that the only person who could report a copyright violation was the copyright holder. Make that make sense when what I was sent were obviously pages copied out of a book. I do have some people I bought from before it got so bad I will still look at their things, but I won´t be buying anything anymore from an unknown seller.
Yes i see so many ai patterns on etsy and just thinking that people buy them and get scammed makes me really sad
Right. I mean some of them are so obvious, but the one I got really looked like a photo. I realized as soon as I was on the second row that it was trash. I left a one star review, so that might at least help others avoid it. But I am still mad that I paid for something I can´t use. The ONE time I had a problem with a pattern on here I wrote to the owner and explained what I was confused about. She sent me a quick answer, and I was able to finish the pattern with no problem. Later bought more patterns from the same seller and they were all perfect.
AI is getting harder and harder to detect too 
Yeah. Until you get halfway through a pattern and it is telling you to do something that is just not possible. Or, the whole pattern seems fine, but you get to the end, look at it and think, what the H is this supposed to be?
