At first I figured it was because I wasnāt a basic user yet and hadnāt completed the tutorial (Iād spend time on here already but I only created an account when I saw a pattern that I was interested in testing). So I did that. I also edited my reply and changed punctuation, this time it wasnāt hidden. And then it happened again, so I edited it, again, by changing punctuation, and it worked.
Now Iām trying to give feedback on that pattern I got accepted for, and I canāt, because again, everything I do is automatically hidden, and I donāt even get the option of editing those posts, I have to wait for staff to manually review it.
So Iām confused. Is there something Iām specifically doing thatās triggering this? Are new accounts not allowed to post?
Edit: Both ironically and unsurprisingly, this got flagged as well. Hereās to hoping it goes through this time with the edit.
Sometimes Ribblr does things like that for no apparent reason. I donāt know if Ribblr could help you if you contact them or not. I wouldnāt think it would just be because youāre new.
I was wondering if that was the case, strange that it works that way. I couldnāt see any indication that new users arenāt allowed to post either.
Thatās pretty inconvenient for me though, especially with pattern testing feedback. Iām meant to finish the pattern in five days, which wonāt be a problem as long as I can talk to the pattern designer about an issue Iāve ran into with the pattern. Except I canāt dm them without it getting flagged, and idk how long the manual staff review will take
Seems to be finally working now? I was able to reply here just now without it getting flagged, tried copy pasting the message for the pattern designer and I think it got through? Which is weird, but Iāll take it.
Idk, maybe itās your first five posts that get flagged, and afterwards itās fine? Either way, thanks everyone!
Sometimes Ribblr automatically flags a post because the wording, a word or combination of a words might potentially have an alternative meaning. It may be considered a threat or something like that, even though the rest of your message clearly indicates it wasnāt.
As you discovered, reviewing what was originally written and rewording a post, often remedies the problem.
Donāt worry too much about it as it happens to all of us at some stage regardless as to whether we are new to Ribblr or long standing users.
Another reason a post might be flagged is if you have breached one of Ribblrās rules, such as if you send people off Ribblr to another website for patterns etc.
Perhaps take some time to read over Ribblrās posting guidelines to check that youāre following them.
Thanks for the information! Although I donāt think thatās what was happening here. Just changing some punctuation (ie adding a dot or changing an exclamation point into a dot) was enough to make the posts not be flagged again. Or in the case of this topic, I added an edit and left the main text as is, and again, that was enough to get it unflagged. Which, if it was somehow something Iād said, wouldnāt they still be flagged?
I did check the posting guidelines earlier as well, I canāt see how anything Iāve posted would be against those or could even be interpreted that way. One of the posts that was flagged was literally just my reply to a call for testers saying that Iād love to test the pattern.
i think ribblrs flagging automation has been extra sensitive recently or maybe it just got stricter because i have been seeing more and more posts get flagged recently, especially for new users. once people review it though, your account should be cleared and youāll be able to post like normal!
