Any one have tips and tricks to use eye lash yarn for me it’s impossible to make a plushie with it.
nope sorry
I’ve only knit with it! But maybe try practicing with a big crochet hook to get the hang of it
I would try to track the stitches using my fingers to pull one side of the loops
uh i use it for not amigarumi bc i can use a bigger hook
I hold it together with a dk weight of regular yarn of similar color and knit with it. With bigger needles Crocheting with it is tricky
I would feel around for the stitches (this helps a lot)
Double/triple/etc the amount so it’s thicker, personally I also would use just regular yarn, but make the stitches BLO so the Front loops are exposed and just surface crochet since it’ll just show the yarn I used to surface crochet, hope this helps!
Idk what that is lol
What tygger428 said above, but I’ve found I can crochet with it easily enough. I crocheted a bear using this method:
The second strand of normal yarn makes it much easier to see the stitches as you’re working on it.
I have yarn that is very similar to that. The first few times I tried working with it I gave up, but eventually I got there. I find it much easier when you use a larger size hook as the stitches are bigger and therefore easier to see. If you are a more advanced crocheter, you may be able to feel where the stitches are as you crochet, but if not it can be very hard to locate the stitches. It took me a good amount of practice until I finally figured out where the stitches are and what to look for. Yarn like this really just takes a lot of patience and effort, but it is usually worth it in the end once you get the hang of it! Hope this helps, good luck!
That combination could work! You could try it out and see how it goes, you can always frog if you don’t like how it’s turning out
Thank you everybody for the help!
Omg thank you so much that helps a lot
Try feeling your stitches :)! That’s the best way that I learned to use it! I’m not sure if you are a beginner or not, but if your not used to feeling your stitches, I would suggest making a scrap piece that you can frog and just practice feeling your stitch bumps. Try closing your eyes too when you normally crochet, once you get comfortable with your crochet spacing and how far apart the stitches are for you, you can then try closing your eyes or centering your attention somewhere else (tv screen, movie on the tv, your wall, a plant, etc.) also, if you really need go and if you have enough stitch markers, try marking each stitch with the stitch markers. It’s a lengthy process, but sooooo worth it in the end! (If you don’t have enough stitch markers, try cutting off small strands of yarn and waving them into the stitches to “mark” them :D!)
I’ve knit with it not crocheted. And it’s tricky like others suggested feel fur your stitches and pair it with a thicker matching color. Such as a dk or worsted you could even double or triple strand the sane yarn. Iris soft once worked up into an item. You may even consider bigger hook size too when you double up your yarn to a 5mm up to a 6mm depending on your tension and the thickness of the yarns your using.
Already so many good tips! I’ll add if there’s any part of your pattern you’re not sure about, practice it in a different, plain yarn. That stuff is impossible to ravel!
Wind into a ball first. It’s very hard to untangle.
If you’re using it for amigurumi, when you’re almost done use a small hook to pull all the eyelash from the wrong side out to the right side. Time consuming but will make it look fluffier.
Good luck!
I always use a thin yarn with it, that’s the same color or gives a great contrast I used some on the top of some stockings I made for Christmas and it’s so hard to see.
