Filtering Accounts

Hi @Ribblr, is there an 18+ filter at all for accounts? I didn’t realize those under 18 were allowed on the app as well and I don’t want to be following any children as I wouldn’t want any adults following my children either. Please help.

Good point. I have no grandchildren on here yet, but when they do, I hope they stay out of chats and community. I love helping new learners, but some of the “parents don’t want me to” yet … they do … Sorry, not what you asked. I agree with adults following children. Surprised I never thought about it before.

I added this to the support section so Ribblr would see it.
Would love more input from others too.

There isn’t a filter for only 18+ able to interact with each other. I moved this to suggestions because a lot of this feel that this would be a good idea.

There is a space that is 18+ on ribblr that you could join if you are interested in that. Personal spaces :bust_in_silhouette: > All Grown Up (Adult Crafters)
Anyone who joins has to confirm that they are 18+ before joining.

I suggest you private their accounts ^^ Although this means that no one can follow them. They can still follow other people tho

I am under 18.
I dont feel like ppl under 18 should leave the app but i do feel like the chats should maybe be disabled bc i have seen ppl post some rlly inappropriate stuff on there about stuff that doesnt need to be on a crafting app.
The oldest you have to be is 13 to have an account but sadly i have seen some 11-12 year olds bending the rules and lying about their ages.
Those ppl can get flagged tho and have their accounts removed.

I think they should have at least a badge or something that makes it obvious that they are under 18. I know Ribblr wants us to be inclusive but I really don’t need teen drama in my life as a 30 something yo woman :upside_down_face: I’ll get enough of that when my daughters are teenagers lol

You can be on Ribblr if you’re under 13, as long as their parent fill out a consent form.

There should be some kind of badge or indicator like @NovaRaineCrochet suggested because as much as I believe no one should be excluded from the site, I would prefer to interact with the adult side of Ribblr more.

Yes that sounds like a good idea.
I think irice431 had a situation where she had to have her mom fill out a consent form.

Good Point! The thing that is sad though is the teen drama on here shouldn’t be a thing because this is a place for CRAFTS! Not teen drama stuff ! If people want to do that they can do it on a platform that is meant for that , Or at least keep that stuff in the general chat.

But the issue with that is many people on here want their age to be anonymous!
I plus usually (as far as the following people issue) most people follow others so you get notify when they post tester calls and pattern releases, which was the point of it from the beginning !

You don’t have to have your age visible to have a badge stating if you’re 18+ or 17-.
Plus if someone doesn’t wish for people under a certain age to follow then then that should also be a setting.
