I’m starting my first blanket. I’m excited. I know I want to use one kind of stitch but not sure if I should alternate between 2 different stitches to give different texture.
When you make blankets do you just keep it all the same or change??
No, I’d die of boredom if it was all SC for example.
I found it meditative to do DC 10, ch 1; repeat till the end. Had a nice simple filet look to it. And DC is my favorite stitch.
Yes id add a second stitch sc across is boring even with making a graghigan. Which ive made a bunch of.
It really depends on what you want. What you want to do, or how you want to do it. Sometimes mindless crochet while you watch tv is just what you need. (Maybe not sc, because it would take forever.) If you can think of it as a fun way to pass the time without concentrating on the stitches, anything you enjoy is fine. I need to start (and finish) a few for some g-babies, so a basic lemonpeel stitch will work for me. Although, I have a couple planned with a bit more thinking also.
That is a lot like the lemonpeel. I think it will be a beautiful texture. And the color, I love the speckles.
I did this stitch for a beanie I just finished and loved how it looked so wanted to do it in a blanket.
I want to make a blanket for my nephew but wanted to practice before I do his.
