Hey so i need help pls, who has good ways to help you not quit halfway through a project? Im trying to make some cool stuff but i cant.
first off, welcome to the community!!
secondly, instead of saying, ‘ i need to finish this thing by tomorrow’ say, ‘i’m gonna finish two rows in 5min’
modify above to ur needs and see if that works
i’ve never tried it myself but a lot of ppl have said it works better
Personally, I like starting several projects at the same time because that’s how I enjoy working. What helps me is setting a limit on how many projects I start at once, usually no more than four or five, and making sure that only one of them is a big project while the others are small. I don’t start a new big project until I finish the current one.
For example, in January my main project was a cardigan made using a pattern I wrote myself (so I had to test and frog several times), and all the other projects were small items that I could finish in a day if I had enough time to crochet, such as on a free weekend day. In this way, I can enjoy working on multiple things at the same time and still stay motivated to finish them.
In addition, I use crochet planners that I created myself, and this helps me both manage all my new ideas and stay motivated by using them.
I’ve found the best way for me to make sure I finish a project is to do pattern testing here on Ribblr. Pattern designers give you a certain period of time in which to complete their test. Once I commit to a test and am accepted I will finish the project by the due date. It keeps me accountable. I don’t want to let others down and don’t like breaking promises.
Sameeeeee
Yeah, I have this issue too… I lose interest/focus easily, especially when I can’t see the progress quickly (mostly with wearables). Amigurumi are great for me because they eliminate this issue, I have never paused an amigurumi project lol
Someone else already said it but when I have bigger projects that I simply can’t finish in one day, I usually commit to doing 2 rows / 1 section every time I sit down to crochet and make that the first thing I do before I can work on any other projects - that helps, kept me on top of my shawl makes… perhaps it’s worth a try
I typically give myself a deadline to be finished (most of my makes are gifts), but it helps me stay motivated to get it done.
