Hello Kitty is a copyrighted and trademarked image. You need legal permission from its owner to make patterns using this image

the beanie will look like a regular cat beanie that’s white with a red bow, is that ok?

Just make sure that it is a totally different looking cat. Even if they “think” you are still stealing their property they will send you a cease and desist letter. They can also send Ribblr a DCMA take down request (DCMA = digital millennium copyright act). Ribblr’s legal team will evaluate that and remove the pattern.

Do not use other people’s copyrighted or trademarked images or characters in your patterns, it is illegal

No Sanrio, no Disney, no Nintendo or any of these things I see all over Ribblr and everywhere else. No Mario Brothers, no Mickey Mouse, no Hello Kitty, no Pokémon, Snow White, Elsa, Harry Potter characters or any of this.

Unless you enjoy getting cease and desist letters from attorneys, getting sued and enjoy violating terms and conditions, terms of service and getting your account deleted for breaking the rules. It also wouldn’t reflect well on you as a designer
