This is how I found what you needed I took the picture of what your looking for and put it on Google ,ask who designed it ect. and you should be able to get your answer.

Today’s mayhem freebie pattern kinda looks like that lol.

Would it be considered a violation in any way if I wrote a free pattern for a (mostly exact) replica of this? I’ve read the comments here and also tried searching for the actual pattern, but I don’t think it exists anywhere online, even as a paid pattern.

Hey there,

It would be consider a violation if you publish a pattern that you have not designed yourself, regardless of whether it’s free or paid. If you are asking something else do clarify and we’ll try to help!

Have a great weekend

I mean that since none of us (not me, nor the others that have commented here) are able to find the pattern for this, would it be ok if I wrote a pattern for it (i.e., I write it myself)? It would be free of course, but I feel the need to make sure that it’s ok since I’ll aim for the exact look in the picture (since we can’t find the actual pattern).

Thanks for responding so quickly btw :)

I’m not Ribblr or anything, but if you’re allowed too. I would recommend reaching out to the original creator to let them know that you wanna write a pattern for their creation, kind of like a collab or something since they don’t have any type of written pattern for it yk here’s the original creators instagram: @ami.cot

I’ll be sure to do that. I’ve already commented on a video of theirs asking if there’s a pattern. The only places I see this picture on are Pinterest–no other sites that even mention an existing pattern for it  I don’t think this creator posts patterns.

You’ll have to get their permission to do so - as mentioned you can only publish patterns for your own original designs. Hope that clarifies it

Yeah I noticed that as well, they don’t really post patterns it seems like they only do markets and sell finished products :/ I was literally thinking the same as you last night tho when I was trying to find this pattern I was like ā€œI’ll just make my own!ā€ But I know Ribblr has rules to certain things

Yeah because the chick doesn’t look that complicated and I don’t think it’s illegal or anything IF a pattern truly doesn’t exist already but I don’t want to feel like I’m doing something unethical TvT

Btw I messaged the person who made that on Instagram. She said that she doesn’t sell patterns for her crochet things (I’m assuming this also means she simply doesn’t have patterns of them available to the public). I asked her if I could write and post a pattern for that chick and credit her but she said that she wouldn’t like that.

I suppose it means that if you want the exact same result, you’ll have to write your own pattern but not post it to respect the creator. As others have mentioned in this conversation, it would be considered stealing if the pattern resulted in a 1:1 replica, despite ā€œchef chickā€ being a fairly general concept.
