You can basically use any yarn for any pattern..it just ends up a different size. As for being able to get yarn..try ordering from Temu..they deliver to just about any where in the world.. make an order of $25usd or more you get free shippingā¦.there are a ton of patterns just on this site geared towards beginners. Just pick ones that you take a liking tooā¦some may seem difficult but looks can be deceivingā¦there is a chat option here that you can go to if you have a questionā¦everyone on this site is really helpful and nice.

Try looking in malls, and search āyarn near meā on Google to see what stores have yarn available. I hope you find some good yarn soon

Have you tried looking on Hobbii? They are a yarn company based in Europe and have nice bulky chenille yarn itās similar to premier parfait chunky. Hereās their link
As for patterns I would look on ribblr, Ravelry or even google free beginner crochet patterns for beginners. You Tube is also a excellent place for tutorials and patterns. Best of luck hopefully you can find some stuff to get you going.
