Help with journal

Hi im new to ribblr. I did my first pattern test for someone and we were told to keep a journal. I managed to do something… although im not sure thats how im supposed to use it. Could someone explain what the journal is used for and how to use it properly?

Thank you dearly :hugs:

you create a journal by clicking one of the 2 buttons i circled in red, either the “review this pattern” at the very bottom/end of the pattern, or the button that looks like a book and says “journal” in the toolbar.

then, this screen should show up. you have a space at the top to put the name of your project, you can put an image (of your finished product) on the left, and you can put notes about the pattern on the right. afterwards, you can access the journal in your makes. if you set it to be public, it will show up to everyone in your makes, if private, then only the designer and you can see it. however, when a pattern is not published/in testing, even if you make your journal public, it will only show up to you and the designer.

things you should put in the notes section:

  • that section helps other people who are considering whether they should get/purchase the pattern or not.
  • feedback about the pattern: if you are testing a pattern, never put negative feedback there. negative feedback should go in the testing gc (telling the designer) so they can fix it. however, if it is a normal pattern, you can put any feedback you have, so that you help other people considering whether they should get the pattern.
  • something helpful to put there is what yarn and hook size you used, because then people seeing your journal will know what materials you used if they want to get a similar size as your product. you could also include measurements, if you want to be super helpful.

hopefully that helped! lmk if you need anything else :)
