im makeing an other cardigan but i dont remember how to make the sleves more puffy
I’m not sure either… I might try having loose tension or maybe making it bigger (frogging it and chaining more) to have it wider and thus more puffy?
I hope this helps in some way!
thank you ill try it for sure in the next round
You’ll want to increase…
You’re using a double crochet, and I assume you want the “puffiness” to occur near the top of the sleeve, close to the top of the shoulder, correct?
If that is the case, then you need to do a strong increase in that first row, creating a sort of ruffle.
The next row will slightly decrease, and continue until you get the taper you desire.
This is a set in sleeve, so another trick you can use to make it “puffy” only at the top of the sleeve insert.
To do this: increase the stitches for a section of the top of the sleeve, very top of the shoulder, for about 3-4 inches, increase ONLY in that small area. The rest remains the “normal” stitch count for the sleeve opening.
This is called “gathering” in sewing terms…
Gathering is typically 1:4 in ratio
Remember: you only want puffiness at the top of the sleeve opening, not all the way around.
No one wants puffy armpits…
thank you soo much its helping me alot
