I was thinking Romania or Gypsy? It’s one of my faves…and yeah that lady doesn’t look happy, she actually looks tired to me. That chair looks MISERABLE!!

No, i was thinking Lithuania. I remember that type of dress in an older couple my mother cared for who came to America before Lithuania dissolved into the USSR.

That’s sounds accurate…
so lovely,
I particularly like their expressions.
I learned crochet just like this…
my Dad showed me when I was a little girl,
and ladies from our church sat by my side as I wiggled my way thru the motions.
Shell stitch was HARD, Trbl was not…
go figure!

the head dress is reminiscent of the Eastern Orthodox Church- but could be wrong.
