How do I…

How do I get more engagement on my tester calls? I want to test and release a bunch of patterns and ideas I have but i feel like my tester calls don’t get acknowledged much. If they do it’s just a comment saying “glwt” or likes.

it might be a good option to promote your tester call on the general chat! A lot of people see it there!

Not many people get a lot of attention with their first several patterns. :woman_shrugging:The more shop followers you accumulate will get more notifications out to the community. Posting in the craft chat group also! Testers may be looking for specific types of patterns which who knows what that is! Keep working on it and you will do well!

this exactly! having a really unique pattern can also attract more testers.

some tips:

  • send the link to your post in any group chats or General chat and Craft talk !! this helps attract more attention.
  • timing is very important- i try to post pattern releases and tester calls on the WEEKENDS, which is when a lot more people are on ribblr.
  • it all comes down to the type of pattern you are asking for testers for. a longer pattern will attract less testers, as this is more of a commitment, whereas a shorter amigurumi has a lot more applications, as these are frequently 1-3 hour projects.
  • the type of photos you take matter!! a well lit, aesthetic picture does MUCH better than a low quality, messy picture.

hope these helped!

  • Make things people want. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

If you aren’t getting the engagement you want, it generally means that people aren’t interested in what you’re making. :sad_but_relieved_face:

This could be for many reasons. For example:

  • They prefer different patterns such as amigurumi, clothing etc.
  • They might find your pattern too difficult or too easy.
  • The pattern is too common ie: amigurumi frogs etc.
  • They’ve already made something very similar and don’t want another.

I would suggest putting it to the side for now and try a different pattern. :orange_heart:
