I know this is a hot take, but I personally don’t think they’re that good. There’s a lot of really crazy issues in the world of kotlc that could be really interesting but go strangely unaddressed, and the books can be really hard to follow(just my opinion though ofc). However, they were pretty fun to read tbf.
I have read all of them, and bought books 1,4,5,6,7,9 for a dollar each at the library I go to. they were on the shelf with damaged book I’d rate it an 11/10 and I’m definitely team sokeefe
I have read like the first 3 books but then in my opinion it became to romantic for me but I still want to know what happened at the end! and I am definetly a hundred percent at sokeefes team.
I’ve read every single one! I only wish it had more representation (queer characters…)
I would definitely recommend! I’m team Sophie x Herself (so… nobody because she’s a single queen)
I binged the entire series last year! I really liked the first book but then things got waaaaaay too complicated for me to follow… I don’t really like sophie or fitz but I love keefe so I’d say sofitz, because I think keefe is so much better single
I’ve read all of them! (I can’t wait for book 10 to come out!)
TEAM FOSTER-KEEFE LET’S GO!
I would rate it maybe a 8.5/10 because of the world-building. I think she just made the world like a super pretty and perfect place that felt sorta 2d. And the humans were represented as completely stupid because apparently everything the Sophie ever learned in the human world was false, which is kinda annoying in my opinion. Also, we never get any super cool lore behind everything. Sophie goes to a school that teaches about the Lost Cities, and we never get any insights about them except for the telepathy and inflicting and alchemy lessons. So to me the world-building is kinda flat and boring.
I would recommend the books and I got some of my friends to read the series too.
