Hello lovely ribbot army!!
I was looking at my shop and was wondering how do i attract shop followers? Like how to grow it. I have a couple patterns I need to finish, multiple tests I need to finish so its going to be a hectic few days. So i was wondering how do I grow my shop? My dream is to have 1000+ shop followers but I don’t have much time to crochet. Any tips? <3
To get mine to follow I did a lot of pattern testers etc and asked what people wanted to see :3
So obviously I only have 700 shop followers BUT I gained them ALL in a month (I’ve been consistently gaining at least 100 followers a day since I released my free frog pattern (it’s only been released about 3 and a half days ago, so I’ve gained 600 followers in 3 and a half days. (Can’t thank you guys enough) but what I would recommend is make something unique, cute, and something that lots of people like, for example LOTS of people love frogs! And you can also make a post before you make a tester call just like I did for my frog to get people’s opinions, and get them interested and excited about the pattern that’s going to be released! And what I did for my frog is I just free handed him for fun, then I thought, oh this might be something people would like I asked for people’s opinions got 90 votes saying that people wanted it and THEN I wrote up the pattern so that I didn’t spend tons of time on something people would hate. (Honestly know I would recommend writing the pattern the first time you make something but yeah) to gain lots of followers it also might be best to make it free and a followers only pattern!
Im currently designing a jellycat inspired marshmallow. Ill probably make a poll after asking what people want to see
I just edited the post so it says even more now.
idrk lol, i just make what i think is silly and hope the masses do too
Yeah , I’m actually making a pattern that I really wanted to make right now
, but they asked for tips
(honestly I came by all these “tips” that I have by accident from making my frog! I was going to make a pattern for him either way, but if people really didn’t want him I wasn’t going to put all the extra work of making sure the pattern was perfect and REALLY easy to understand AND make all the clothes patterns for him
.
I think if you offer free followers-only patterns that people want then you’ll build your following up
I do the same, i usually write down the pattern notes in a notebook but typing it up is a chore you only want to do for the ones you think people will like. When i just freehand without jotting it down i usually end up regretting it.
I personally gained almost 2000 followers from having 3 different patterns. I made them all free but exclusive to my followers
My most popular pattern that gained the majority of my followers was released in late june, i got i think 1200 followers from that alone
I think making small, no sew patterns will help a ton! Also if you can’t crochet a ton, maybe try doing a pattern collab with someone who has more followers!
When was your first pattern posted ? If you don’t mind me asking? Just so they can get an idea of how long it generally takes to get a lot of followers!
Ok, here are some tips (purely from my experience)
- Have some more unique patterns (like not just bees, leggy frogs, and jellyfish ect)
- Make the cover photo clean and clear
- Have free for followers patterns!! (At least a few) That’s what got me 3k followers
- Post tester calls that require journals. People like getting patterns with positive reviews
- Ask people what they want! Polls are great for this
- Collabs. Especially if the person you’re collabing with has more followers.
I think that’s it! I’ll add more if I think of it.
Just post a lot of free patterns for followers only and you’ll have a bunch soon!
Okay so my strategy is prob make a cute pattern, make it free but only exclusive for followers. It’s worked for me bc I have 1200+ shop followers
Some tips from me! :3
Make patters that are unique, but not too out-of-the-ordinary that people won’t search for them.
🩵 Make patters that are follower exclusive and free so more people follow you for your fabulous patterns!
Post all the time. What I mean is, comment or interact with posts a lot so users become more familiar with you on the Ribblr platform.
🩵 Testing for patterns can be super-duper slow, so remember you don’t have to have testing calls for every pattern you make. If you think someone may have a hard time on it, make a tester call and see if you have anything you need to improve. This way you can get patterns out faster.
Test for patterns, if you have time for it, ofc. This one relates to the familiarity one I mentioned earlier, but this just helps people see you more.
🩵 Another thing abt pattern releasing, DON’T spit out all your patters at once. If you do it this way, you’ll have activity spurts (as I like to call them) where you don’t have stuff to add for a time period, so people see you as “inactive” and don’t pay attention to you. This can be countered with posting on Ribblr Meet, but others may think you’re not trying to provide any longer.
Make yourself stand out with your pattern thumbnails. I know this may seem self-contradictory to the first one, but let me explain!! For example, in my pattern thumbnails, I add fun bubbly handwriting and blush on the images. This makes people find my content as “eye catching” and want to own it. Because this is unique to my shop, this also makes people familiar with my content think “Oh that’s Citrus Kitty Co.”
Hope this helped and made some sense XD
Wnat is Ribblr Meet?
Technically this is ribblr meet! (Ribblr meet is the community part of ribblr)
