How would I crochet a cat snuggler?

So my mother is giving birth in December and I’d really love to crochet something, specifically a cat smuggler, for the baby. I definitely have the yarn and supplies to do that, and I’ll be freehanding it (I will write down the pattern). The thing is - how would I make this? I was thinking of making it in a similar (but not the same!) way to @BerriesAndCr34m s bunny snuggler (apologies if you didn’t want to be tagged), but I’m sure the community here will have way better ideas then me. Should I follow up on this or do you guys have any other ways I could make this? Thank you in advance :heart_with_ribbon:

@Centara has some great snuggler patterns you could modify to be a cat if they don’t already have one! Sorry if you didn’t want to be tagged

I think that just depends on how you want to modify it, you could make an average snuggler body add legs and arms how you want and then cat ears and a longer tail

Oh nvm I didn’t read the whole thing but still they have some great patterns if you aren’t set on writing your own

Ooooh I’ll definitely check out her snugglers :3.

Yeahhh that’s gonna basically be my process!

It’s ok! I think I would get :sparkles:inspiration:sparkles: as well!

I don’t mind being tagged, no worries!

Honestly, what helps for me is looking at an image and trying to (sort of?) replicate it. so you could try looking up a cat snuggler and try to replicate it somehow :3 and maybe to where it doesn’t look the EXACT same to that. I’m not sure if you wanted that advice, but you got it anyways ^^

im currently trying to make something, not using the pattern, but replicating it myself and freehanding it <3

That’s really useful advice, thank you! What you’re doing is what I’m thinking of doing loll

Sometimes, I’ll look up pictures of an actual store-bought version, and I’ll crochet the shape of it. And add my own color choices and my own yard type. And accessories. I also like to very messily draw out the main parts I want to put in first.

Sometimes it helps me to define the very basic shapes of the different parts, for example, what the ear would look like. What the head would look like, what the body would look like, etc.

I hope some of this is helpful.

@Craftsrme67 has much better selection of snugglers if you want to avoid making your own =)

If you are making your own, just be sure that you’re being original and not copying people. Would be rude to steal someone else’s design

That’s what you would call a lovey =) a snuggler is kind of like an unstuffed plush but it is a full body
