I’m having a little trouble helping a friend

My friend loves crochet, but she is too scared to do it. She is afraid that she will waste supplies. She also doesn’t believe in me when I say that a lot of crochet patterns are free. She also doesn’t think that she has patience for it, but she crochets every day.
Please help!

She crochets everyday, but she is afraid to do it? I am not sure what you mean.

Sorry, I should have been more specific.
She doesn’t want to use any yarn that is not super cheap becuase she is worried it will go to waste

Maybe give her some of yours (if you want to) and let her see what she thinks about it and maybe that will encourage her.

no crochet is waste
here are some tips for her!

  • saving scraps (for embroidery and stuffing)
  • having a plan on what ur crocheting
  • knowing how much yarn you have left (measuring weight)

hopefully she gets confident in knowing that no crochet is wasting yarnn

Practice makes perfect! Once they get better they’ll look back at their old creations and be proud of the progress they’ve made, not embarrassed by the way the old ones look (at least that’s how I feel)

You could send her patterns using that specific type of yarn so she has some inspiration maybe? Thats how i get inpired to get plushie yarn. Maybe for christmas or her birthday you could get her a skein and send a couple patterns to her :sparkling_heart:

I think u should tell ur friend that its totally ok to be worried about using too much yarn (I also often feel the same way when I start a bigger project!!) , but that she should also not let that stop her from crocheting! We all had to start somewhere, and even if the product doesn’t turn out as u hope, its alright, because as long as u are enjoying what u are doing, it doesn’t really matter how much yarn u use. Hope this helps!!
