I started crochet a border collie today, Iโm almost done. And I wanted to make the final result fluffy, but I need help with attaching the yarn onto the finished piece. The other week I made a hamster for my cousin and she wanted it fluffy. The way I attached the yarn was wrapping some yarn around two of my fingers multiple times, and cut it to get the same length. I then took a strand, went through a stitch, grabbed the middle of the strand so there was a loop. Then pulled the two strands created through the loop. But I didnโt really like the end result, you could see where you attatched the yarn and it looked bulky. Does anyone else know how to attach yarn on a finished amigirumi piece? I have tried to loop stitch but when I cut the loop, the stitch comes apart when other crocheters do it doesnโt come undone, and it makes it harder to see the stitch when using the loop stitch. Iโd really appreciate some help.
If I understand you want to make a finished piece fluffy? If yes you can try this
You can also surface crochet with the yarn you want to use
If that doesnโt help let me know and I can try and find another way to help
Oh wow!! Thank you so much for these!! Ive always wondered about these techniques, but because I never made anything that uses them I never bothered looking it up!
I cant believe you can just brush out a finished piece!! I thought people were using a very furry yarn! I would completely expect brushing out the piece to destroy all the stitches!
Yeah I was surprised you can just brush the stitches without it being destroyed! Iโve used this method before and I love the results
Me too, was gonna suggest a wire brush.
Thank you so much! Iโll make a practice piece and see if it works for me!
No problem! Glad I can offer some help
