I’ve freehanded some WOF dragons hers what I use for seawings and leafwings and icewings!

Surface crochet along the back in this pattern:

Sc 2/3 (based on the spacing you want),ch3 , slpst. However many times needed scale up or down as needed

Side note have you read book sixteen yet?

A way you can make the dips and curve for the light green parts is by: crocheting the length of the total frills, sc across to however the lowest dip is, double or treble crochet and than use smaller height stitches and then back up to create the dip. But i do agree that surface crochet would be good for the darker green parts.

Hmm, I’m not really sure cuz I’m still an intermediate pattern designer but I I’ll let you know when I get an idea on how to make it!

Also I’m a HUGE wof fan too!

Idk… I’ve made some things similar to the Leafwing design and I’m not sure if it helps but I use picots and sc like this: (2sc, picot)

What’d I’d suggest is crocheting the spine piece seperate, and crocheting in the back loops the entire time so that it gets that good ridged look, kinda like this :backhand_index_pointing_down:
