Hi! I’m Stephenie, and I’m new here. I’m self-taught, and I’ve been crocheting more than 30 years. I never kept pictures of any of my blankets until I decided to start Amigurumi, so I took a picture of the blanket I crocheted for my Dad for Father’s Day a few years ago. This is it!

Thank you so much! Yes, he loved it! It’s almost 6’ long, and 4.5’ wide. I made it long enough so he could tuck it around his feet (he’s 6’3"), and wide enough that my step-mom could snuggle under it with him! They both love it, and use it quite a bit!

It started as a pattern a long time ago, but I’ve given it my own twists over the years. It’s 4 rows of double crochet followed by the shell stitch to make it as long as you want then the final 4 rows of double crochet. I made this one for my dad, who is over 6’ tall, and never had a blanket long enough for him, and I made it wide enough for him to share with his wife. They both love it! I believe I made it with the Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn, Sand color, a #4 Worsted Weight yarn. I’m not sure what hook I used, probably a 6.5 or 7mm, because I stitch tightly.
