Hi everyone! Recently I’ve had trouble getting testers…And I wanted to ask if anyone else is having trouble gathering testers? It might be when I post, but I am greatly worried that I may have too many requests, or have offended someone…
I usually give a deadline for testing and a few requests, but I try my best not to ask anything besides a deadline and some preferences…But I usually recommend those things in the pattern themselves…
For me, its more about the content of what im testing and if i have the use and time for it! Particularly for tour two released patterns for example, I would test the peep but not the bluebeary. This is just because i crochet full time and know I have an audience with the peep over an audience for the bluebeary. Aka, i have to sell what i make or have an intended use, i cant do too many for fun personally. I would recc. reaching out to previous testers as well if you had a good time with them, i know i work with a few designers who add me as a tester to every pattern and give me the fluidity to complete at my own pace. Sometimes i can get them out in 24 hrs, and sometimes it takes me weeks. Its really dependent on time and my ability to utilize it for something other than personal use.
Tysm! I’ll keep this in mind!
I’m going to say that announcing it’s going to be free pattern before you even test it might play a big part. Since gifting the pattern to the testers is common, the rush to jump on a cute pattern while you can get it free drives some of the crowds. If I had to choose where to spend my time, a pattern I can for free later can wait.
Hmm I never thought of that! For some reason I thought I should be upfront about it…I’ll keep this in mind next time!
I test quite a few patterns and I’m fairly quick. If you’re ever in need, feel free to ask me and if I can I’d be happy to help you out
I almost just put you as a tester for my skull cap, but then I wasn’t sure if I should. Just because you’ve tested for me before and you are lightning fast!
You can add me any time! I love testing for you
