It’s my bday today!! 
Tysm everyone, this is a great community and I love Ribblr!! I got a few tiny-ish gifts, but my biggest one (which isn’t here yet) is a macrame kit! I think it’s sort of similar to crochet, just you make knots? Curious if anyone here has ever done macrame before and if you have any tips for me!

As for macrame, and good tip is to have a fairly large open space bc it gets longer the farther u go down in the project. Even small Keychain take up a bit of space.
Other than that, have a good clean surface that u can maybe tape down the project on.

Oh I love macrame.
As you said, with macrame you make knots - square knots, half hitch, double half hitch etc with your hands instead of a hook/needles.
You use rope which comes in various thicknesses instead of yarn.
I’ve made wall hangings, lamp shades, snowflakes, feathers etc.
