Hey everyone! I’m just a bit curious on your opinions of my tester calls lately. I tend get a lot of applications for my free patterns and oddly enough not many for the ones that are paid. I was wondering if it has to do with timing, like when I post it or how long the test is for? Maybe it has to do with the designs themselves? I’m curious to hear what you all think! I also have a lot of problems with people ghosting me more on my paid patterns than the free ones (my newest paid pattern that is releasing soon had 3 testers but only 1 actually tested or responded in any way). Here’s some examples of patterns I want to get tested soon!
Turtle Cats - Medieval would be paid like the others, Artemis Rocket I’m still not sure since I want people to be able to make it with a free pattern but it also took a lot of effort to design, Planet Kitties would probably be paid, and Pegasus the Water Horse would be free. Any thoughts on this would be really helpful!

I hate when people are ghosting so on my latest test I said that if you don’t answer and say if you need more time I will remove you from testing
(I really like you’re new patterns)

I ended up having to remove (and block) 2 people from my secretary bird test because they didn’t respond

The only thing I can think of is that free patterns are generally easier or more simple in design so beginners feel comfortable applying. I also have noticed that if sewing is involved, there is a lot less interest. I don’t get much interest in my designs (not sure why either) and end up with a lot of ghosts. If they never commented in the group chat, I block them. If they commented but didn’t finish or communicate needing more time, I remove them from the test and make note. If they do it again, they get blocked. Also, if they don’t upload a photo to their journal by the due date, I remove them from the test.
I also post to Facebook and Instagram with a link to the tester call to get the word out. I don’t know if it has helped at all but it doesn’t hurt lol

It could be. I’m not sure what level most people like to test. Instagram never helps me so I don’t even bother anymore
