Could use some advice… have been having a rough week and just cant find my firento finish projects im almost done with…just cant pick up the good ol hook anymore…its like i feel lost when i do…
Oof, I feel that
…often just taking a break from crocheting and focusing on a different hobby, for me that’s often reading, can help you to get back into crocheting, so that you don’t burn yourself out too much.![]()
Sorry I don’t have a lot in the way of advice, hope this is at least a little helpful?![]()
Gl with getting back into it!![]()
Honestly any advice is appreciated…lost my god-daughter and i just feel little empty atm…cant seem to find the groove anymore. Was working on a shark for my son and a hooded scarf for my mom…but im just staring at them lost. Like even the pattern left my brain. But i havent read in awhile and i have some new books so ill give it a shot thank you!
You’re welcome! So sorry for your loss
, let me know if you would like any book recs
.
That would be wonderful actually, I’m very much into mystery, fiction, suspense…but I’m willing to give any book a try
Ok, the Throne of Glass series is great it is a fantasy with 8 books in the series and has a heavy plot around magic!
I think i saw that in my suggestions box on my kindle, I’ll give that a look and check it out. Thank you!!!
Give yourself some grace and listen to your body and mind. It’s okay to need to step back from something. Your hook isn’t going to judge you. It’ll be there when you’re ready to pick it up again.

Thank you
been crocheting since i was a pre-teen and now that im in my 30’s im looking at it going…you always brought me comfort and peace…whats wrong with me?bwhy is this so difficult and different? Its just strange to not be crocheting i guess…if that makes sense?
I had some loss and walked away from crochet for a while cause I just couldn’t. Crochet wasn’t connected to them at all. I was just numb. I actually couldn’t do any of those fun hobbies anymore. I ended up finding new things to do. After binge watching several TV shows and reading through several book series I had been meaning to read, I discovered water color and origami, hand sewing (the machine and I are at a stalemate), then rediscovered working out and dessert making (glad for the working out), then acrylic painting then finally dabbling back into a little crochet here and there like key chains or an ornament until I could feel joy again. I really leaned into painting until crochet felt alive again. There were a few more things in between to get back to crochet. But it was a journey.
Your journey will be all your own and there is no right or wrong way through it. Who knows what you will discover about yourself and what or even who as new friends that you may find along the way as you heal through this loss and find your way back to crochet and
I agree. Your body and mind are telling you that it’s okay to take time and mourn. Losing someone close to you is emotional. Give yourself time and grace to take bubble baths, meditate/pray and binge watch a tv show.
Thank you so much! Yes it’s been very much a struggle juggle and I just put my two weeks in at the job I’ve been at for the last 4 years. So I have no idea where im heading next…but it’ll be interesting to see when I get there. Thank you so much for your message it means a lot to me because I dont have many friends and I didn’t really expect anyone to reach out it was a shot in the dark but it feels good to see I’m not the only one who’s kinda just dropped it for a moment in time
