Making a pricing/profit calculator - Wondering what yarn everyone uses the most!

Hello there! This is my first post so hopefully, it’s in the right place lol. Anyway, I’ve decided to make my own crochet price/profit calculator since I know pricing is something a lot of people struggle to figure out. This will hopefully minimize the guessing and show you your profit margins more accurately. I’ve just started, but I wanted to know what yarn/yarn brands everyone used so that I could include them in the calculator, these will be presets that will include: The name of the yarn, the total amount of yards in a new skein and the weight of a brand new skein. If you guys could just drop the yarn and yarn brand you guys use the most that would be incredibly helpful as I want it to include a variety of different yarn brands along with a variety of weights (Medium, Bulky, etc)
If you do then thank you so much in advance for your help! I want this calculator to be helpful to as many people as it can be!

I usually use either chenille home slim or bernat blanket ( super bulky)

I think Bernat Blanket, Red Heart SuperSaver, Chenille Home, Sweet Snuggles, and anything LionBrand are usually pretty common? Also I added some tags for better sorting! I hope all goes well with the calculator! :]

I made a google sheet years ago. I have all the numbers in and just add the weight of yarn used for the project. Very helpful. I guess mine goes per project, not per yarn though. Still, good job, good luck, and welcome.

I use the Premier yarns from Dollar Tree a lot. But I also use Red Heart, Yarn Bee, Caron, and Big Twist. I feel these give me the needed thicknesses, softness, color variations and price points that I am looking for. I do love to use cotton and acrylic yarns the most, usually in size 3 or 4. I have used thicker yarn, but I am not as comfortable with the larger hooks that are needed.

The yarns I use
Premier parfait chunky
Sweet snuggles lite
Bernat blanket
Red heart super saver
Red heart comfort
Loops and thread worsted
Bernat cotton
Lion brand cotton blend
Lion brand mandala
Aunt Lydia’s
Lion brand kooboo ? I think is the name but not 100% I use this for cardigans
And yes I do use all these :joy:
So these all range from a light weight of 3- bulky of 8
Excluding the aunt Lydia’s that’s a size 10 thread.

So little update! I tried to include everyone’s yarn. Some of the yarn mentioned didn’t have some of the things I needed so if it’s missing that might be why. Some were mostly hobby lobby brands as they only sometimes list the grams. However, if anyone doesn’t see one of their favorites, let me know! I’ll see if I can add it onto the list

Lately I’ve been using Big Twist Value Worsted, Big Twist Living, and Truboo
EDIT: just saw you posted the chart and I noticed Truboo is already on there! sorry!
